However, a method called region completion is adopted to fill in the tainted part by using the information from the portion left unblemished by stains. A novel method to perform this operation is proposed in this paper. The three significant stages involved in the proposed work are patch size selection, matching patch identification using multiresolution transforms such as Wavelet and Contourlet Transforms; and finally minimum cost path determination. The aforesaid methods perform well for different varieties of texture images.
